Sail the Chao Praya River on a luxurious wooden barge
The Manohra Song is a luxury vessel, based upon a 100 year old teak rice barge measuring over twenty feet long. With only four luxuriously appointed and air-conditioned staterooms, the boat is an intimate and elegant way to explore this part of Thailand. On board, there is an expansive saloon, a living and dining area with bar plus a sun-deck at the fore of the ship. The décor features teak and mahogany wood surfaces, offset with rich Thai silks, oriental rugs and artefacts. Food is a highpoint and even includes English style high tea, Thai style canapés as well as Italian luncheons and traditional Thai banquets. Starting in Bangkok, the three day two night itinerary includes visits to the Temple of Dawn and the Royal Barges National Museum. You will be able to stop and feed fish to make merit at a local temple before mooring near another small Buddhist temple for the night. The second day includes a full tour of Ayuthaya and her temples. This was the capital of the Siamese empire for more than four hundred years and is now a fascinating location for temples, ruins and museums. Moor nearby for your second night on board. On your third day, visit the Summer Palace at Bang Pa-In and a traditional Thai handicraft village before returning to Bangkok.
