ST KITTS HOLIDAYS & NEVIS HOLIDAYS

Holidays in St Kitts & Nevis are ideal for people wanting to head off the tourist track a little. Separated by a two-mile channel, St Kitts & Nevis both have lush mountainous interiors and a rural vibe. St Kitts is ‘busier’ with a larger land mass and population, although the must-explore south east peninsula remains compellingly wild. The smaller island of Nevis is one that time forgot… Dominated by 3000ft Nevis Peak it has just one main road that circumnavigates the island in under 2 hours – ideal for a day out exploring without getting lost!

WHY TURQUOISE HOLIDAYS LIKES ST KITTS & NEVIS

"With a rich history and verdant landscapes, St Kitts holidays & Nevis holidays are perfect for active holidaymakers who like to get out and explore their chosen destination." Catherine – St Kitts & Nevis specialist

THINGS TO DO IN ST KITTS & NEVIS

1. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Brimstone Hill Fortress on St Kitts. The views from the top of the hill are definitely worth it!

2. Enjoy a charming train ride on the narrow gauge St Kitts Scenic Railway, originally built in 1910 to transport sugar cane from the fields to the mill, and now the last railway in the West Indies.

3. Hiking is one of the most popular pursuits on Nevis. You can hike the forest trails or even tackle Nevis Peak. Experienced guides will explain the history of the island and point out the beautiful flora & fauna as you go.

4. Walking up and down the delightful streets of Charlestown on Nevis, you’ll see some of the best remaining examples of the colonial era in the Caribbean, with numerous 18-19th century Georgian-style buildings still in place.

Holidays in St Kitts & Nevis

St Kitts holidays & Nevis holidays are like stepping back in time. With so many historical landmarks and remnants of the sugar industry all around the islands, it’s great to get out and explore. Largely undeveloped, the islands are very natural and apparently there are more monkeys than people on St Kitts and more donkeys than people on Nevis!

Turquoise Recommends - St Kitts & Nevis Hotels

Montpelier Plantation, set high in the foothills of Nevis Peak is a proud member of Relais & Chateaux so a perfect choice for foodies or hikers wishing to explore the rainforest trails. Nisbet Plantation on the north coast of Nevis is the ideal place for those who prefer the sea breeze in their hair and sand between their toes. Both hotels offer 18th century colonial charm with all the modern day conveniences. New for our 2016 programme is Belle Mont Farm on St Kitts, a unique place to stay on a working organic farm.
