Farm 215

A 2-hour drive from Cape Town in the rural Overberg (enroute to Hermanus), this unique wilderness retreat is undoubtedly one of our best-kept secrets! Remote and unspoilt with ‘not a streetlight or tar-road in sight’, farm 215 is wonderfully situated on an 800 hectare fynbos reserve – and has been uniquely designed to take full advantage of its splendid isolation. All who stay revel in its overpowering sense of space – not to mention the superb views of the surrounding lakes, mountains and sandy shoreline.

Solitary and imposing on top of its hill, the original homestead houses two suites with comfortable kingsize beds. These rooms also boast an ensuite bathroom – and there are no televisions, just a CD player and an extensive book collection. Relaxing in the shade of the courtyard or in a deck chair next to the long pool, is all part of the ‘farm 215 experience’ – and in the summer, you can watch the sun set over the ocean from the front terrace. Wholesome meals, complemented of course by fabulous Cape wines, can be served at your request – ‘anywhere at anytime’!

The Overberg is excellent horse riding country –and it’s no surprise therefore that farm 215 is the base for the renowned African Horse Company –specialists in tailor-made horse trails through this beautiful region. The reserve also has an extensive network of hiking trails with botanical guides available to interpret the rare plant species.

In addition to the suites in the original homestead, farm 215 has recently added three new freestanding Forest Suites, each of which is linked to the main house by a winding boardwalk.
