Singapore Honeymoons

Modern and trendy, this island city state has a romantic reputation which makes it a delight for tourists to discover on their luxury Singapore honeymoon. With English widely spoken and an easy-to-navigate transport system, Singapore is perhaps the most accessible of Asia’s grand cities when looking for a luxury stay in the tropics.

Above all, Singapore is a culturally rich, multi-ethnic mix of Chinese, Malay, Indian and other influences, all of whom retain a strong sense of tradition and identity against the backdrop of modern Singapore. Famed for its fantastic shopping, Orchard Road consists of endless shopping options, with most international brand names found here. Many hotels line this strip and it remains busy throughout the day. Another key shopping areas is Marina Bay and for smaller and local designers’ shops and a more traditional atmosphere, the areas of Little India, Chinatown and Arab Street are very short distance away from Orchard Road.

Although space is at a premium on this crowded island, nature lovers will be at ease during their Singapore luxury honeymoon. On top of Singapore Botanic Gardens, MacRitchie Treetop Walk, Southern Ridges and Pulau Ubin offer an opportunity for more outdoor activities. Amazing nature can be found throughout Singapore, providing a pleasant respite from the city's bustle.

Culture

Singapore culture

For culture lovers, Singapore also offers some of Asia’s best museums, including the fantastic Asian Civilisations Museum, which traces the history of cultures across the continent, the newly renovated National Museum of Singapore and National Gallery Singapore, the region’s newest and largest museum of modern Singapore and Southeast Asian art housed within two of Singapore’s national monuments. The unmistakable Esplanade Theatre, with its durian-like architecture, also hosts world-class concerts and has fabulous acoustics.

Food is also a huge draw for visitors to Singapore with a mouth-watering and extensive array of cuisines on offer. Naturally, Singaporean restaurants excel chiefly at Asian food, in particular Malay or Indian curries, Chinese food and classics such as dim sum. Famous dishes such as Hainanese chicken rice can be sampled anywhere, from a top-class restaurant to one of Singapore’s iconic hawker centres. Some of Singapore’s most interesting cuisine can be found at fusion restaurants – particularly the regional Peranakan cuisine, which is a fusion of Malay and Chinese food and is absolutely delicious. A must visit is Candlenut, the world’s first and only Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant.

Singapore is also home to some of Southeast Asia’s best nightlife and 6 establishments feature on Asia’s 50 Best Bars List 2021 with Jigger and Pony making it to the Top 10 and bar hopping along Ann Siang Hill and Club Street is a must do in Singapore.
