One of Asia’s most iconic hotels, Raffles has represented a bastion of hospitality since its construction in 1887. In the true essence of multicultural Singapore, the hotel was founded by four Armenian brothers and named after Sir Stamford Raffles, founder of modern Singapore. Fully refurbished and re-opened in 1991, the building was declared a Singaporean National Monument in 1987. Somerset Maugham, a frequent visitor, once referred to the property as a symbol for "all the fables of the Exotic East". The hotel has been home to a host of celebrities and historical figures, as well as being the backdrop for famous events and films.

With its elegant white façade and opulent colonial interiors, the unique style of Raffles has been much imitated around the world. This property however remains the inspiration behind the classic colonial style, featuring elegant courtyards, turbaned doormen, fragrant gardens and rattan furniture. The 103 suites are located in four different wings, linked by airy verandas and all boast spacious interiors, designed to be reminiscent of pre-war colonial bungalows. Large ceilings, fine Oriental carpets and original etchings on the walls all help to create a stylish period feel.

With 18 restaurants and bars, a 24 hour personal valet, beautiful spa, swimming pool and fitness room, designer boutiques, a Culinary Academy and even the Raffles Hotel Museum, guests will never be short of facilities or gourmet experiences. Who can resist a Singapore Sling at Raffles’ Long Bar, where the cocktail was first created?
