Serenely nestled amidst 33 acres of lush tropical gardens on a pristine white sand beach on Upolu’s south coast, this small boutique resort has been carefully designed to reflect the spirit of Samoa. The setting is truly idyllic… crystal clear turquoise waters gently lap the shoreline and shady coconut palms fringe the soft white sands. Sinalei’s 27 falés are located either in the garden, overlooking the ocean, or beside the beach. We highly recommend the Beachside Falés – where bi-fold wooden doors on two sides open back to allow the outside in and take full advantage of the gentle ocean breezes and fabulous views. The interiors are wonderfully rustic, with a four-poster bed made from local hardwoods facing the ocean and a spacious deck leading directly onto the beach. The hammock and outdoor shower further enhance the feeling of total relaxation! Hopeless romantics will also love the Honeymoon Falé Pool Villa. Tucked away on the far eastern side of the resort, this falé enjoys the most secluded setting amidst the gardens on a quiet stretch of beach. The interior is more modern in style than the Beachside Falés and a deck leads to a private plunge pool and gazebo - the perfect place to relax and revel in peace and solitude! For those seeking added space, the Presidential Falé Suite is the perfect choice – not only does it enjoy a wonderful beach location, but this suite also consists of 3 falés separated by timber walkways comprising a separate bedroom, living area with kitchen and bar – and a plunge pool. Relaxation comes all too easily at Sinalei… you can spend lazy days soaking up the South Pacific sunshine, snorkel or kayak in the crystal waters, take a refreshing dip in the freshwater spring at the end of the pier or indulge in a soothing treatment in the simple open air Spa (the exotic treatments skillfully combine ancient Samoan and modern day techniques). Rest and rejuvenation aside, it is well worth making the time to explore – join a guided tour and discover traditional villages and unspoiled beaches, or hire a car for part of your stay. Upolu has some impressive waterfalls and Apia’s markets are fascinating. A day trip to Savai'i is also highly recommended (we can pre-arrange this for you). Sinalei has two restaurants and a poolside bar –Ava I Toga overlooks the water and serves a range of meals including delicious wood-fired oven cooked pizzas, all to the backdrop of Samoa’s magnificent sunsets, whilst Laumosooi Falé specialises in fresh local seafoods. Romantic meals for two at the end of the lantern-lit pier can also be arranged. The resort has a lagoon swimming pool, tennis courts and a 9-hole golf course - and a Fiafia night (an island buffet and cultural show) is held every Wednesday. Sinalei is 30 minutes from Apia and 45 minutes from the airport.
