This small group, activity-based holiday is suitable for all age groups of average fitness level. Day 1 - Sail on Auckland’s sparkling harbour before travelling south to Rotorua for 4x4 driving this afternoon. (B,L) Day 2 - Head to the small seaside town of Whakatane for a boat trip to the active volcano, White Island. Visit a marae and experience a Maori welcome concert and hangi this evening. (B,L,D) Day 3 - To Taupo today – stroll along the banks of the Waikato River and witness the mighty Huka Falls. (B,L,D) Day 4 - For the adventurous, white-water rafting on the Rangitikei River awaits this morning. For others, a scenic rafting trip on the river’s calmer water is also available. Then drive south to Paraparaumu on the Kapiti Coast. (B,L) Day 5 - Visit Kapiti Island, a bird-lover’s paradise. Continue south to Wellington where there will be time to wander through Te Papa, the country’s national museum. (B,L) Day 6 - Explore Wellington this morning, before boarding the Interislander ferry to Picton. Spend the next 2 nights in the breathtaking Marlborough Sounds. (B,L) Day 7 - Walk part of the glorious Queen Charlotte Track today. (B,L) Day 8 - Go kayaking near Picton this morning, before enjoying the beautiful drive to Nelson. (B,L) Day 9 - Cave rafting on the West Coast's Nile River is on the agenda today! Then continue onwards to Punakaiki, home of the Pancake Rocks, for a spectacular coastal walk. (B,L) Day 10 - Travel along the wild and rugged West Coast to Fox Glacier. Enjoy a 3 hour guided glacier walk, followed by an evening's stroll around beautiful Lake Matheson. (B,L) Day 11 - Jet boat the Waiatoto River, deep in the Mount Aspiring National Park. Then enjoy the scenic drive to Queenstown. (B,L) Day 12 - A free day to enjoy some of Queenstown’s many activities. (B) Day 13 - A scenic journey to Mount Cook today. Enjoy Kiwi hospitality at a farmstay in Fairlie tonight. (B,L,D) Day 14 l Your tour comes to an end in Christchurch, after a farewell lunch at a local winery. (B,L)
