Newly opened in February 2006, Parehua not only boasts stunning vistas from the Martinborough Terraces to the mighty Tararua Ranges – but it also offers fresh, contemporary accommodation just a short walk from the delightful wine village of Martinborough (a one hour drive from Wellington).

Serenely nestled amongst world-class vines on five acres of beautiful park-like grounds, Parehua’s suites, cottages and villas overlook rural fields, the private lake or the nearby mountain ranges. There are 22 luxury one-bedroom suites with spa baths –but for that extra indulgence, we highly recommend one of the four free-standing one-bedroom cottages which have private outdoor hot-tubs! There are also two villas which each offer two bedrooms, a private barbecue area, an outdoor hot-tub and laundry facilities – the perfect option for friends or families travelling together. The suites, cottages and villas all benefit from Sky television, CD and DVD players and fully-equipped kitchens.

Breakfast is served in The Pavilion, which is also a popular place to unwind with a good book or relax by the fireplace and chat to other guests. In addition, there is an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court. The Martinborough region is a wine-lover's paradise – and hosts Mike and Lois will happily point you in the direction of some of the region’s best vineyards and restaurants. The local wineries are relatively small and typically family-owned. The only 'wine village' in New Zealand, Martinborough offers old world charm, a real community spirit (despite the local rivalry amongst winemakers) – and a lively café and restaurant scene which is renowned for drawing Wellingtonians out of their city at weekends!
