Explore these awe-inspiring fiords in complete serenity - when all the day visitors have departed.
Designed in the style of traditional New Zealand coastal trading scows to reflect Fiordland’s heritage, the ‘Milford Mariner’ and ‘Fiordland Navigator’ offer a limited number of guests the opportunity to not only explore these awe-inspiring fiords in complete serenity – but also at a time when all the day visitors have departed. Leaving Milford at 4.30pm, the ‘Milford Mariner’ cruises the full length of this spectacular fiord before anchoring for the night in a sheltered cove. Take to a kayak, go exploring in one of the tenders or relax on deck and marvel at the dramatic beauty which surrounds you. Ten times larger than Milford, lesser-known Doubtful Sound is even more serene, wild and remote. After a short cruise across beautiful Lake Manapouri (which departs at 12.30pm) followed by a coach transfer over Wilmot Pass, you will board the ‘Fiordland Navigator’ at Deep Cove – your stunning gateway to the breathtaking scenery that is Doubtful Sound. This is an overwhelming place where you can feel the power of nature. Don't be surprised if you see dolphins and fur seals - and kayaks and tenders are also available for your use. Dinner and breakfast are included – and accommodation is provided in private ensuite cabins.
