A rare journey into the untouched wilderness of the World Heritage listed Mount Aspiring National Park, this awe-inspiring 6 hour adventure begins with a 45km scenic drive along the spectacular edge of Lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy. Here you will board your awaiting jet boat for a thrilling ride past snow-capped mountains and cascading waterfalls –this is New Zealand’s most scenic jet boat journey! You will also enjoy a walk through the ancient forest – and a fascinating drive through the backcountry to the aptly-named ‘Paradise Valley’ –the setting for major scenes of ‘Lord of the Rings’. Departures leave Queenstown at 8am or 12 noon. Alternatively, ride the jet boat to the upper reaches of the Dart River before transferring to your own inflatable canoe or ‘funyak’ for the paddle downstream (this trip takes 9 hours and includes lunch).
