Canyon Ridge, Shotover Canyon

Perched high up above one of Queenstown’s most stunning locations - the spectacular Shotover River Canyon (pictured) - Canyon Ridge is a little known rustic mountain retreat, just a 5 minute scenic drive along a country road from the centre of Queenstown.

Ideally suited to three couples travelling together, the house has three double bedrooms, all with impressive outlooks. The view from the ground floor bedroom (which has an ensuite) faces towards Coronet Peak (Queenstown’s popular winter skifield), and French doors lead out to the sunny terrace which overlooks the Shotover River. The two upstairs bedrooms enjoy varying views across the mountain tops and deep into the canyon or towards the steep rugged back of Queenstown Hill and the sunrise. Both these upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom and a small terrace. Crisp cotton linen is provided.

The large open plan living and dining area incorporates a fully equipped kitchen - and you will also enjoy comfortable window seats and a relaxing open fireplace.

French doors lead on to the outdoor deck which sweeps around the house and not surprisingly, the deck boasts magnificent views of the exhilarating jetboat rides on the Shotover River below - an adrenaline activity for which Queenstown has become world renowned. This is also a great spot for enjoying some alfresco summer dining with a bottle of the local Pinot Noir from Queenstown’s renowned Gibbston Valley Winery.
