Prices

Prices from £510 per person per night including all meals, soft drinks, local beer and wine, beach picnics, guided activities, shore based snorkelling and fishing, sea kayaking, birding, walking trails, windsurfing, hobie cat sailing and dhow sailing. Boat transfers to the island and flights to Pemba are additional.

We have flights to Mozambique via both Johannesburg and Dar Es Salaam depending on whether you are staying in the south or the north of the island. Fares start from £615 return plus £320 airport taxes with South African Airways via Johannesburg. Why not stop over in South Africa for a few days and visit one of their famous game reserves - speak to one of our Sales Consultants.

The very essence of castaway chic, pristine Vamizi Island (accessible by scheduled charter flight from Pemba in Mozambique or Dar es Salaam in Tanzania) is a true escapist retreat off the coast of Northern Mozambique in the Quirimbas Aerchipelago.

Remote and beautifully untouched, Vamizi is just 12kms in length and 2kms wide. It epitomises Northern Mozambique – unspoiled wilderness, powder soft white sand, virgin reefs, abundant marine life and indigenous tropical forest. There is a traditional fishing village on the west coast.

Your sanctuary is one of 13 stunning timber villas (one or two bedrooms) strung loosely along one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Each is over 170 square meteres in size, with an open plan living area (cooled by fan) and a private sundeck with Swahili day-beds. Discreetly positioned, each villa amply commands its own part of the beach - and the hand-carved furniture and natural fabrics reflect the region’s Arabic influence. These exquisite hideaways are perfect for those who really do want to feel ‘lost’ on their own desert island! Three of the villas are family-oriented, with large double bedrooms adjoining a central living area.

The diving and snorkelling are sensational – Vamizi has been rated one of the world’s top ten dive locations – and you can also enjoy deep sea fishing or go exploring by kayak or traditional dhow. Those wishing to relax and be pampered can indulge in a variety of beauty treatments and massage therapies - and in addition, yoga, shiatsu and reiki are available. Naturally, the ocean holds the key to the island’s cuisine – during the day, enjoy the thatched open dining room in the main lodge or opt for a picnic on a deserted beach. Evenings are fuelled by grills on the beach or more elaborate dishes under lantern light in the dining room.  Vamizi birdlife is prolific - and the island is also home to Samango Monkeys, Coconut Crabs and Hawksbill and Green Turtles.
