Inspired by turn-of-the-century Mauritian plantation houses, the hotel’s interior combines dramatic vaulted ceilings, and soft hues of ivory and cream with gleaming dark wood and sepia photographs. As you step into the confines of this tranquil oasis, you will be greeted by a ‘picture perfect' scene of shimmering turquoise waters and swaying palms.

The accommodation is irresistibly elegant! The Residence offers a choice of 135 oversized guest rooms and 28 exquisite suites - all of which open onto a private balcony or terrace with views of the ocean or a leafy corner of the 25 acre gardens. Finished in muted tones with rattan furniture, wrought iron and wooden shutters, rooms are scented with the gentle aroma of ylang-ylang and exotic spices, whilst the opulence further extends into the magnificent marble bathrooms.

Romantics and honeymooners will find it hard to resist the lure of the Colonial Ocean Front suites. A sumptuous four-poster bed, lavish bathroom with decadent ‘La Prairie’ amenities and a spacious terrace with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean are standard features in each of these eight suites.

For families, five of the Colonial Ocean Front Suites can interconnect with an adjoining Ocean Front Room. In addition, a limited number of other interconnecting room combinations are available.

The Residence’s impeccable service is further enhanced by special touches such as the convenience of ‘check-in’ carried out in the comfort of your room and a personal butler to attend to your every need.

At the heart of this earthly paradise is The Sanctuary - a tranquil Zen-inspired Spa with nine treatment rooms dedicated to rejuvenating and re-balancing the body and soul using world renowned ‘La Prairie’ treatments and therapies. Yoga, pilates, reflexology and a variety of relaxing massage options are available too.

The Residence is also renowned for its culinary delights - an intriguing blend of seafood and Creole flavours are served in a stunning oceanfront setting at 'The Plantation', whilst the main dining room - poised above the pool - offers gourmet cuisine fused with Mauritian spices.

Children from 3 to 12 years can enjoy the resort’s ‘Planters Kids Club’ whilst soothing yoga and meditation is available for grown-ups. PRICES Prices per person for 7 nights in an Ocean View Room range from £840 in low season (£107 per person per night) to £1030 in high season (£134 per person per night) including breakfast, dinner and the return airport transfer. A minimum 10 night stay applies over Christmas and New Year.
