Pangkor Laut

Located 3 miles off the West Coast of Malaysia, Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island, accessible via a 45 minute boat journey from the coastal town of Lumut. This island paradise has been 2 million years in the making, and it is here that the acclaimed Pangkor Laut Resort nestles serenely amidst pristine beaches, sweeping bays and ancient rainforest. Emerald Bay, the resort’s private beach, has often been cited as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches.

Of the island’s 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the 142 luxury villas and suites, the eight exclusive Estates and the award-winning Spa Village – all of which blend seamlessly into the jungle habitat as if nature had been the architect.

Linked by wooden walkways, the signature Spa and Sea Villas stand elegantly on stilts over the water. Each boasts a stylish bathroom with oversized bathtub. The Beach Villas (semi-detached bungalows) are just steps away from the white sandy beach and feature a large bathroom with separate shower and huge bathtub in a private outdoor courtyard. Set dramatically on the hillside (with stunning views of the sea) or dotted around the resort’s lush tropical gardens, both the Hill and Garden Villas are housed in two storey units – upstairs, the bathroom opens out to views of the rainforest whilst downstairs, the Villas have an outdoor bathtub in a private courtyard.

Resort facilities include a swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, a gym and the Spa Village – a four acre haven of relaxation where you can indulge in an array of treatments. The seven restaurants and bars offer superb cuisine in a variety of exquisite settings – and you can also cruise around the island aboard an antique junk.
