Celebrate you marriage or other special occasion with a traditional Baci ceremony, an integral part of Laos culture. It is based on the ancient belief that human beings are a union of 32 organs watched over by the soul (kwan). It s believed that when the kwan is out of balance that illness or bad fortune can occur and the ceremony essentially calls to the kwan and re-establishes equilibrium. The kwan is drawn in by the chanting of a village elder, after which the elders wrap a white cotton thread around your wrist whilst further chanting to strengthen the power of the blessing. In Laos, white is the colour of peace, good fortune, honesty and warmth. The ceremony takes place in a 115 year old rustic house on a lotus pond where afterwards you enjoy some traditional music and dance.
