The only Laotian property from the luxury Colours of Angsana group, La Maison Souvannaphoum enjoys a unique style and a great location. Situated at one end of the main road which runs through Luang Prabang, La Maison Souvannaphoum was the residence of a former prince and is only a short walk from the nightmarket, museums, temples and restaurants of Luang Prabang. Rooms in the main and original residence are those which were occupied by Prince Souvannaphouma himself during the 1960’s and 1970’s and are now home to the hotel’s finest suites. Varying in size and décor, each of the three suites is unique. In addition to the main building, an extra wing has been built on the grounds of the hotel. Rooms on the ground floor are called Garden rooms and have direct access to the grounds via a private balcony. The first floor rooms are called Verandah rooms and also have their own private balcony. The style of the rooms is unique – a funky blend of colonial era design and hip contemporary colours and textiles. Stylish white fabrics and walls combine with bold uses of bright colour. As with all Angsana properties, the spa is a highlight, with treatments being carried out in an unusual tented area in the garden. The Elephant Blanc restaurant serves Asian and international cuisine in a stylish setting and overlooks the narrow swimming pool.
