Gracing the pages of travel magazines and interior design books the world over, Governors’ Camps have clinched numerous awards and accolades for their distinct combination of old world charm, romance, adventure, superb cuisine and first class service. Renowned for its predator sightings, expert guides and traditional safari style, at Governors II Moran you will encounter a very special ambience of the Africa of Old. Small and intimate, the camp is ideally suited to couples and honeymooners seeking that extra bit of luxury. Hidden in the shade of ancient trees along the winding banks of the Mara River, II Moran’s ten spacious tents are completely private and feature beautiful king size beds, crafted from fallen olive trees. The spacious en-suite bathrooms boast a Victorian style bath enabling you to soak away the dust from your memorable day on safari. Lunch is served on the banks of the Mara River under the giant evergreen trees, whilst in the evenings, dinner is a candlelit affair in the open dining tent or alfresco by the river. The camp’s superb location inside the Reserve ensures that you will encounter some of the best game viewing in the Masai Mara – you won’t waste any time getting to the action! You will enjoy game drives in custom-built safari vehicles – and we also highly recommend a walking safari with one of the qualified naturalists – a unique opportunity to experience the untamed beauty of the Mara. Masai cultural visits are also available and the camp is naturally proud of the relationship it has nurtured with its Masai community neighbours. Governors II Moran is accessible via a daily scheduled or charter flight from Nairobi, followed by a 15 minute road transfer.
