Set on a rocky promontory overlooking the sweeping Isupukiai River, this small eco-conscious and exclusive tented camp enjoys spectacular far-reaching views amidst beautiful wilderness teeming with game. It is located in Eastern Koiyaki, a short distance north of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp boasts six stylish and uniquely designed ‘round’ tents which take full advantage of the stunning surrounding panorama from their elevated setting on wooden platforms. The interiors are refined and somewhat minimalist with extensive living space. Each has a double and a single bed, an ensuite shower, flush toilet and thoughtfully placed electric lighting. Ol Seki offers all the intimate touches you would expect of a luxury tented camp with careful attention to detail courtesy of owner, Sue Allan, and her son and daughter-inlaw, who developed the camp with the local ecology and environment as primary consideration. With over 36 years of safari experience, the Allan family have taken the ambience of the traditional mobile safari camp and extended it to new heights. The elegant dining and mess tents share the same glorious views – and there is also a library tent for quiet reflection. Romantic candlelit dinners and a resident masseuse add to the intimate appeal. Game is plentiful – and Ol Seki’s guides are all sourced from the neighbouring Koiyaki Guiding School which the camp supports – one of the principal aims being to train local Maasai in the art of guiding to international standards. You can also enjoy bush picnics and sundowners, visit a local village or explore the ancient Ndorobo cave. Ol Seki is accessible via a scheduled or charter flight from Nairobi to the local Koiyaki airstrip.
