This is a rare opportunity to interact with some of Vietnam’s foremost historians. Allow one of these well-known local academics to guide you around their home towns, sharing their in-depth and specialist knowledge. Pictured is Mr Cau Xuan Pho who is based in Hanoi and is a specialist in the art and religion of Vietnam. A history professor for over twenty years, Anh Pho is now a senior researcher and has conducted research into subjects such as Champa art and Buddhist culture in Vietnam. Other historians include a Hanoi-based journalist, an expert in the Nguyen Dynasty and martial arts, a Danang-based expert in Cham sculpture and a Saigon-based former military officer who can lead you through the Cu Chi tunnels where he lived during the conflict. For those with a special interest or a true desire to learn more about Vietnam’s enthralling culture, an in-depth interaction with such learned men will be both rewarding and fascinating.
