Once the former stately home of Sir John and Lady Ellerman, the house harks back to a time when colonial entrepreneurs sipped cocktails on the lawn as the evening sun dipped into the Atlantic Ocean. Meticulously restored to its original early 20th century splendour, this gorgeous Relais & Châteaux member is today in a class of its own – and with only eleven elegant rooms, including two sumptuous suites, exclusivity is guaranteed!

Each individually decorated room exudes an air of grace and style with fine period fittings, impressive South African art and plush interiors. The views, which evoke comparisons with the Riviera, are a feature of almost every room – and luxurious touches include mohair blankets, heated slate bathroom floors and beautiful cut glass decanters with complimentary sherry and whisky!

Acclaimed international chefs create each day’s menu using only fresh, locally-grown produce –and meals can be served in the beautifully appointed restaurant, on the wide verandah, or on the lawned terrace beside the pool.

Tucked away in the gardens, the recently completed Ellerman Villa & Spa (picture 2) has created a contemporary edge which stylishly complements the classic elegance of the main house.
