Nestled amongst native bush, high above Whitianga, with expansive views of the Coromandel and the blue ocean beyond, Giorgio, Margherita and their young family invite you to share a little piece of Tuscany and enjoy traditional Italian style cuisine, fine Italian wines and genuine hospitality in their unique Villa Toscana.

Accommodation is provided in a stylish fully self-contained suite which was designed and built to offer the utmost privacy. You and your partner, friends or family, will be the only guests (up to four people) at this intimate hideaway where thirteen tons of terracotta tiles, over twelve square metres of Italian granite and marble slabs, antique furniture and paintings, and even a genuine terracotta pizza oven were imported from Italy to ensure a truly authentic experience! The suite is lavishly decorated and contains two kingsized bedrooms (one can be offered as a twin) with views over the hillside to the ocean. A large living area adjoins a custom designed fully fitted kitchen with doors leading out to your own private balcony, with sweeping views of the valley, historic Mercury Bay and the islands beyond. Watch the sun rise and set whilst you soak in the hot tub with a fine wine from Giorgio’s wine cellar, and relax in the knowledge that, as the only guests, you can revel in as much privacy or company as you require.

Breakfast is included in your stay and can be enjoyed indoors or outside on the terrace. If you’d prefer, Giorgio and Margherita will gladly invite you to experience a true Italian family breakfast in the main house.

Less than three hours from Auckland, this area of the Coromandel offers plenty to do, including bush walks, boating, sea kayaking, mountain biking, archery and tennis plus much more. You can even spend a day on board Giorgio’s 32ft Bertram Mamma Mia and try your hand at catching a marlin - but however you choose to spend your time, you will certainly leave with wonderful memories and a new friendship with this charming family. And as a reminder of your stay at Villa Toscana, you can always purchase one of the many Piedmontese wines or fabulous Tuscan olive oils offered to all lodge guests.
