One of the newest of Siem Reap’s boutique hotels, the Heritage has just twenty suites and six rooms. The concept of the resort is to combine authenticity with modern influences and as such, the luxury villas are built around a traditional village model and guests are initially welcomed into an ancient colonial building. Villas themselves are extremely stylish, with Oriental furnishings, wooden and bamboo surfaces and sympathetic lighting. The resort has combined the elements of air, earth, wood and water to create chic and tasteful villas, a relaxing and peaceful retreat after a long day of touring. The bathrooms are a feature of this hotel. The oversize bathtubs comfortably fit two and the walled garden features an open air shower, in a natural setting filled with lotus and bamboo. There is even a private steam room in the Bungalow Suites. The three Angkor Suites also feature a private Jacuzzi pool. Whilst the style of the hotel is natural and in keeping with her surroundings, rooms do feature all the necessary modern amenities including air conditioning and high speed internet connections. The airy colonial house is the location for the restaurant, or it is possible to organise al fresco dining by the salt water swimming pool. The cuisine is an exotic and delicious mix of Khmer, pan-Asian and international dishes. Well located for both the airport and the town centre, the hotel is only ten minutes from the main entrance to the Angkor complex.
