In the heart of beautiful Ubud, the Uma Ubud is surely one of Bali’s most stylish and most attractive hotels. Opened in 2004, the Uma is a member of the COMO collection which also includes renowned properties such as the Metropolitan Bangkok or Cocoa Island in the Maldives. COMO's philosophy is to provide quiet comfort in culturally rich locations and the Uma Ubud's design is based around the concept of a rural home in the hills. Decorated in a bright, modern yet inimitably Balinese style, rooms are white, light and chic. A traditional thatched roof is complemented by white embroidered curtains and carved bleached wood doorways and furniture. Terrace rooms have excellent views of the surrounding rice paddies and a small garden with seating area. Garden rooms are slightly larger in size and have a separate semi-outdoor bathroom – this is decorated in stunning black terrazzo with a free standing bathtub covered in draped mosquito nets. Uma Suites have a larger living area and three of the four suites have a small plunge pool in their garden. The Shambhala Suite has its own spa treatment room, Jacuzzi and steam/sauna room. The spa is a highlight here, offering a range of Indonesian and other treatments. There is also a yoga sala which offers incredible views over the jungle valley during the daily complimentary classes. The restaurant has beautifully fresh food, including a mouth-watering menu of healthy spa cuisine. The bar is an excellent place to chill out whilst overlooking the central swimming pool.
