Rachamankha

Inspired by the design of a beautiful Lanna temple, the Rachamankha is a haven of tranquillity in the midst of Chiang Mai’s old town.

Although the property was newly built, the architect and interior designer have maintained complete purity in Lanna design. All of the rooms are exquisitely appointed and feature Lanna art and Chinese, Lao as well as Burmese antiquities. No two rooms are the same and because of the beautiful antiques featured, children under twelve years old are not permitted. With a flair for design and great attention to detail, the hotel is beautifully lit by the warm glow of large lanterns, a rare antique screen decorates the bar and original lithographs from early twentieth century artists line the walls. Whilst the rooms themselves are relatively simple when compared with a luxury hotel in the traditional sense, the experience here is truly authentic.

A wonderfully stylish restaurant serves Lanna cuisine, as well as other famous Thai and international dishes. The swimming pool is perfect for relaxation after visiting the nearby temples and there is a small massage area for guests. The Rachamankha’s boutique offers guests the chance to buy a little of the style which characterises the property.
