Accessed by road and boat from Krabi, the Pimalai is located on a secluded bay on Koh Lanta and truly feels as if you are getting away from it all. The resort itself has 82 rooms ranging from Superior to Suites and Beach Villas. Some rooms have beautiful ocean views and facilities are fabulous, including three restaurants, a swimming pool, beautiful spa and a dive centre. However the real highlight is the new Pool Villa wing, opened in December 2005. With 39 exquisitely appointed villas set on a hillside, this is the epitome of the stylish and exclusive villa concept. Each villa is enclosed within its own walled compound, ensuring complete privacy. The centrepiece of each villa is a 5.5 x 3 metre infinity edge swimming pool affording stunning views over the bay and tropical landscape. The outdoor living area comprises a large day bed, on which in-villa spa treatments can be offered. To the right of the pool stands the living room building. Large glass windows provide views over the bay and a small kitchenette is also attached. Across the courtyard is the bedroom, which also has its own plasma screen television and DVD player. A feature of the bedrooms is the large bathroom, which has a huge bath tub and rain shower. A large sundeck is attached to the bedroom. The Pool Villa wing has its own infinity swimming pool and two restaurants to choose from. With its understated Thai style, the resort is synonymous with exclusivity and luxury.
