New Majestic Hotel

Located in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown, this former 1928 shophouse has been transformed into a truly modern art hotel, fusing unique design, the work of local artists and contemporary furniture to create a truly cutting edge and unique boutique property.

The bright white terrazzo floors of the lobby area set off a collection of chairs, ranging from an antique barber’s chair to a modern designer offering, contrasting with the hotel’s deliberately unfinished ceilings. The atmospheric restaurant features an award-winning chef and serves modern Cantonese cuisine on hand-made crockery in an art and design orientated setting. Circular port holes set in the ceiling reveal swimmers in the pool directly above. The restaurant also boasts a wine cellar with more than 2000 bottles.

Next door to the hotel is the Majestic Bar, a new gastrobar serving modern Chinese food and cocktails mixed with delicious fresh ingredients amongst stunning art installations.

The hotel features just 30 unique rooms designed by local Singaporean artists. Premier rooms more than make up for their compact size with their idiosyncratic style.  Premier Garden rooms are the same size, but feature an additional small outdoor terrace with  vintage cast iron  bathtubs. Lifestyle rooms come highly recommended, more spacious than the Premier rooms and each with its own unique concept, the artists responsible for them having been given carte-blanche. All rooms offer Kiehl’s amenities and iPod docks with Bose soundsystems, LCD TVs, complimentary wireless internet access and complimentary non-alcoholic minibar.
