A unique journey through New Zealand's wine regions!
Day 1 - Auckland Arrive in the ‘City of Sails’ and enjoy an overnight stay at the stylish Hilton, down at the waterfront. Days 2 - 4 - Hawke’s Bay Fly to Napier where you will pick up a car and make your way to the picturesque Tuki Tuki Valley – the delightfully rustic Little Tom’s Cottage is your hideaway for the next 3 nights. Many of the famous Hawke’s Bay wineries are within a short drive. Days 5 & 6 - Martinborough Head south for 3 hours today to historic Martinborough, where you will enjoy 2 nights at the colonial-style Peppers Martinborough. Explore the region’s leading wineries, many of which are within walking distance of the hotel. A short drive away, charming Greytown is well worth a visit too. Days 7 & 8 - Wellington Continue south to Wellington (and if time permits, take the spectacular coastal drive via Cape Palliser). The contemporary Bolton Hotel provides your accommodation for the next 2 nights. We highly recommend a ‘Zest’ Food Tour (see page 41 for details). Days 9 - 11 - Marlborough Sounds Board the 3 hour interislander ferry crossing to Picton at the top of the South Island today where you will join the scenic launch to the Bay of Many Coves in the Marlborough Sounds – your home for the next 3 nights. Walk part of the Queen Charlotte Track, kayak or just relax and enjoy the stunning scenery which surrounds you! Days 12 & 13 - Blenheim Return to Picton by boat, collect a hire car and enjoy the short journey south to Blenheim in the heart of the acclaimed Marlborough wine region. Spend the next 2 nights at the delightful Benmorven Cottage. (B) Days 14 & 15 - Kaikoura Head to Kaikoura today for 2 nights at Kincaid Lodge. A whale watching cruise is a ‘must’. (B) Day 16 - Christchurch Continue on to Christchurch for an overnight stay at The George. Day 17 Return your car to Christchurch airport and board your international flight back to the UK.
