Occupying a prime location on the edge of Lake Rotorua (a mere ten minute drive from the centre of the city), this 1930’s mansion, which was beautifully restored by a leading New Zealand designer, houses seven stylish suites and two romantic free-standing Lake Cottage Suites. The main lodge retains the gracious charm and design of the 1930’s – and the suites all benefit from a small balcony, mostly with views of the lake. For that extra indulgence, the more spacious Main Suite boasts a luxurious spa bath in the ensuite and a larger balcony complete with table and chairs – and of course – panoramic lake views! Popular with honeymooners and romantic couples looking for added privacy, the two free-standing cottages nestle on the lake’s edge, just a short walk from the main building. Each has a separate lounge and bedroom – and an open-air hot tub on the deck. The welcoming lodge has a relaxing living area, a billiards room and dining room. The lodge is available on either a ‘Bed and Breakfast’ or ‘Dinner, Bed and Breakfast’ basis – we highly recommend opting for the latter as dining is an integral part of the Peppers’ experience. The daily 4 course table d’hôte dinner is preceded by drinks and canapés by the fire or on the terrace. You may choose to dine with other guests in the main dining room, privately in your suite, beside the lake or even in the wine cellar. The lodge has a private beach with a jetty where fishing guides can meet you – or you can board a seaplane for some unique flightseeing! There is also a mini-gymnasium and a small Spa facility offering a range of massage and beauty treatments.
