This unique and stylish ten room timber lodge enjoys a wonderful rural setting amidst 40 acres of farmland on the shores of Lake Te Anau – with breathtaking views across the water and to the mountains of the Fiordland National Park beyond! Each of the guest rooms boasts a king bed (which can be split into twins), an ensuite bathroom and lake views – whilst the Executive Suite has the advantage of a separate living area and spa bath. The guest lounge is a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring Fiordland – and the large riverstone fireplace, exposed log beams, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass create a feeling of warmth, space and style. A commanding staircase leads to a peaceful mezzanine level with a library. Breakfast and dinner are served in the dining room – and the menu showcases local produce complemented by wines from the cellar. Separate from the main lodge and a drawcard for families, the traditional log cabins can sleep up to four or five people. Fiordland Lodge is located five kilometres north of Te Anau – and is an ideal base for exploring Milford and Doubtful Sounds. Fishing and bird-watching are also available. Lake Te Anau is just a 10 minute walk away – and definitely worth a lesiurely stroll –but the surrounding alpine setting also offers numerous scenic hiking trails – and the lodge can easily arrange full or half day guided walks with a local knowledgeable guide (heli-hikes can also be arranged).
