This privately owned coastal vineyard sits at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. Ideally located between Nelson and the stunning Abel Tasman National Park and five minutes drive from Mapua wharf's waterfront restaurants, cafes and stores, Ruby Bay Lodge and Vineyard Cottage offer the perfect place to unwind and experience the very best in hospitality and gourmet produce. A stay at Ruby Bay offers a unique ‘insiders’ perspective of this vibrant wine region and the Lodge and Cottage afford all the luxuries of home – with the added bonus of wonderful sea and mountain views! Overlooking the vines and Tasman Bay beyond, the romantic Vineyard Cottage offers privacy and independence, with beautiful furnishings and is equipped to cater for your every need. Sleeping two to four guests, in a downstairs King and upper level mezzanine Queen bedroom, all rooms enjoy elevated vineyard and sea views and spectacular sunrises. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a bottle of wine and a delicious lunch platter, allowing you to relax and enjoy the cottage and its stunning views. A fully equipped kitchen stocked with gourmet breakfast provisions, including local produce, will encourage you to rustle up a breakfast feast to be enjoyed on the deck, before heading off to explore the delights this region has to offer.
The Lodge offers two beautifully appointed suites in a separate guest wing, each with their own entry and access. Both suites have private balconies with stunning views over the vineyard to the Tasman Bay beyond. The suites feature king sized beds with goosedown duvets and crisp cotton linens and designer bathrooms with rain showers. A separate lounge is available for guests with Sky TV, CD/DVD library, projection theatre system, games and books. The Lodge also features a viewing tower which affords 360 degree views out over the Bay and the Mount Arthur and Richmond Ranges. Lodge guests are invited to join the hosts for pre-dinner drinks and hors d’oeuvres served in the Tower nightly, before heading to one of the many excellent restaurants nearby (dinner is not served in the Lodge).
All guests of the Lodge enjoy a vineyard platter with wine upon arrival, daily a la carte breakfast, a personal wine tasting with the hosts in the wine cellar and if you wish a vineyard tour.
