Cape South Cottages, Hawke's Bay

Located within ten minutes of two of Hawke’s Bays’ finest beaches – Waimarama and Ocean Beach – and just twenty minutes from Havelock North, this collection of three self-contained cottages is the perfect place to unwind and relax in a tranquil setting – not to mention to explore the region’s many fabulous wineries!

‘The Homestead’ is the largest of the properties and sleeps a maximum of twelve guests in six double bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bathroom. This large and elegant house is set in its own gardens with expansive views of the surrounding hills and the breakers at Ocean Beach. Encircled by a sun drenched verandah overlooking the swimming pool, the Homestead is perfect for family and friends to relax and idle away the hours while enjoying the food, wine and serenity of Hawke’s Bay. Inside the Homestead, a modern kitchen will allow you to enjoy some of the delicacies you may have collected from the local farmers’ markets, or perhaps enjoy a chef catered gourmet dinner in the graceful dining room. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy the spacious lounge with log fireplace, should the evening bring a slight chill.

‘The Cottage’ is a traditional villa style weatherboard accommodation, located adjacent to the Homestead. Offering two bedrooms (one queen with ensuite and one twin which can be made into a king, with its own adjacent shower room), the Cottage is perfect for either two couples or a family. Relax on your private verandah, soak up the sun in the secluded sunny garden or stroll across the lawn to the pool (located in front of the Homestead) for a leisurely swim.

Finally, the third cottage is ‘The Hut’ which, despite its size, is fitted out to the highest standard with all the modern amenities you would expect. This little hideaway is perfect for a couple with its queen bedroom and open plan living-dining and kitchen area.

All the cottages offer catering facilities (with The Homestead providing a full kitchen with oven) – and ample breakfast provisions are provided for your first morning. With their own private outdoor areas and verandahs, and use of the Homestead’s swimming pool, there are plenty of spots from which to enjoy the views with a glass of wine, or perhaps cook up some local produce on the barbeque.   Should you wish to enjoy a meal out, the gourmet dining experience of “Terrôir”, Craggy Range’s restaurant, is only a fifteen minute drive away.  For a more casual eatery you can head to JARKs, just ten minutes away at Waimarama Beach, for all day cafe style dining.
