Set in a protected bay on the west side of Bazaruto Island, the most northerly island of the Barazuto Archipelago, Indigo Bay enjoys an enchanting setting surrounded by aquamarine waters, superb coral reefs, soaring sand dunes, exuberant bird and marine life and beautiful white beaches. Recently upgrades with a fresh new modern design, Indigo Bay has re-positioned itself as one of the leading resorts in Mozambique – and the new-look accommodation now comprises 30 Beach Chalets and 14 exquisite Bay View Suites. Complete with kingsize bed, indoor and outdoor shower, a sea-facing oval bath, open plan living area and relaxing verandah, the Beach Chalets discreetly nestle amidst the palms. There is also one Beachfront Honeymoon Chalet, secluded and private with its own splash pool. The contemporary Bay View Suites each offer two bedrooms, an outdoor dining area, sala, a fully equipped kitchen and a splash pool (there is also the Matemo Suite with a kingsize bed and private plunge pool). The waters off Bazaruto Island offer an amazing diversity of marine life – perfect for snorkelling, diving and fishing (freshly caught sea food is naturally the restaurant’s speciality). Other facilities include two tennis courts, a variety of watersports such as wind surfing, hobie cat sailing, waterskiing, sunset cruises and dhow excursions – plus dune-boarding and horse riding. There is also a saltwater swimming pool, a fitness centre and an award-winning Wellness Spa. Indigo Bay is accessible via a scenic 15 minute light aircraft flight from Vilanculos.
