The Datai

Nestled within pristine rainforest leading down to a private white sand beach overlooking the azure waters of the Andaman Sea on the north-western tip of Langkawi, The Datai is consistently ranked as one of the world’s best hideaways. Footpaths through the jungle and open-air walkways, flanked by tall trees, link the hotel’s main areas (and the two beautiful swimming pools) with the stunning rooms, suites and free-standing villas.

The 54 Deluxe Rooms each feature a combined bedroom and living area, a comfortable daybed and a balcony. The elegantly designed Superior Villas offer a much larger interior space as well as an oversized daybed, whilst the Pool Villas also boast a private plunge pool. In-villa amenities include a flat screen TV, a DVD player, Bose CD sound system, a Lavazza coffee machine and a rainfall shower in the large bathroom.

There are also 2 Corner Suites, 11 End Suites, four Pool Suites (which share a 15 metre pool) and the ultimate two-bedroom Datai Suite. The Pool Suites must be booked as ‘pairs’ as they share common areas and are linked by a sheltered walkway.

Watersports are available as well as facilities such as a Health Club, two tennis courts, a fabulous Spa integrated into the rainforest and an 18-hole Championship Golf Course. Mountain biking is also an option at the Datai.

Dining is a culinary delight with a choice of several restaurants including the award-winning Gulai House in the rainforest and the Beach Club.
