Naibor Camp is a stylish tented camp on the banks of the Talek River in the heart of the Masai Mara. Sister property to Shompole, Naibor’s ‘safari chic’ style combines contemporary comfort with muted bush colours. Each of the seven classic pale-canvas tents spills out onto a shady verandah with day beds, whilst the en-suite bathroom features a flush toilet and traditional hot water ‘safari-bucket’ shower. The tents nestle amongst a riverine forest and are suitably spaced so that each has a unique view of the surrounding bush and wildlife. Families or romantic couples will enjoy the seclusion of nearby ‘Little Naibor’ which comprises two uniquely designed two bedroom tented suites (each has a double and twin room inter-joined by a communal lounge and verandah area). The main ‘mess’ tent overlooks the Talek River where animals come to drink. Floor cushions, rugs and sofas invite the weary to relax and enjoy the sounds of the wilderness – and the campfire provides a welcome spot for pre – dinner drinks in the evening. Dinner is served at either the long banquet table or at private tables under the stars whilst breakfast and lunch are either served in camp or as a picnic during a morning’s game drive. Naibor offers excellent game sightings – and birdlife in the area is also prolific. Bush walks are highly recommended – and after an exhilarating day in the bush, you can enjoy a relaxing treatment in the Naibor Spa. Naibor is accessible via a daily scheduled flight (or private charter) from Nairobi to Ol Kiombo airstrip, followed by a 20 minute road transfer.
