Naibor Camp

Naibor Camp is a stylish tented camp situated in Southern Kenya on the banks of the Talek River within the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, near the confluence where the Talek River meets the Mara River.

Sister property to the über-stylish Shompole - Naibor, meaning wide open spaces, has been carefully designed with an eye for detail and comfort. A simple design of neutral shades - cool whites and pale khakis - sets the scene for a modern ‘safari chic’ mood. Each of the spacious pale-canvas classic canvas tents spills out onto a wonderful verandah with a private day bed and dining table, whilst the ensuite bathroom features a flush toilet and traditional hot water ‘safari-bucket’ shower. The tents nestle amongst a riverine forest and are spaced so that each has a unique view of the surrounding bush and wildlife.

The main 'mess' tent at Naibor Camp is beautifully located overlooking the river and beyond where animals regularly come to drink. Comfortable floor-cushions, rugs and sofas invite the weary to relax and enjoy the sounds of the wilderness - and the camp-fire provides a welcome spot for pre-dinner drinks in the evening. Meals are made from the finest fresh ingredients prepared by experienced chefs. Dinner is served at either the long banquet table or at private tables under the stars, whilst breakfast and lunch may either be served in camp or as a picnic during a morning of game watching.

Game viewing in specially adapted safari vehicles often rewards guests with sightings of lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, hyena and elephant. Birdlife in the area is prolific and varied, with a large number of aquatic bird species along the banks of the Talek. To enjoy nature up-close, we highly recommend a bush walk with an experienced ranger.

Naibor is accessible via a daily scheduled flight from Nairobi to the Siana airstrip, or by private charter, followed by a 1 hour road transfer.
