Campi ya Kanzi

A serene hideaway in East Africa’s vast wilderness, Campi ya Kanzi is situated on a

magnificent 280,000 acre private ranch in the Chyulu Hills, overlooking the plains of Amboseli and the snow-dome of Mount Kilimanjaro. Your passionate hosts are Italian-born husband-and-wife team Luca and Antonella Belpietro together with their ensemble of 42 Maasai who run the camp with enthralling enthusiasm.

At ‘Kanzi’, Camp of the Hidden Treasures, accommodation is provided in seven charming thatch and canvas cottages. Raised on wooden platforms, each features an elegant ensuite bathroom, a log bed, personal Maasai attendant and a verandah to enjoy the afternoon sun.

Far removed from the pace of the outside world, Campi ya Kanzi boasts an endearing charm which ensures you feel at home. Dinners are served in Tembo House - the inviting heart of the camp - where crystal glasses, fine silver and candlelight set the tone. Antonella’s chic Italian flair complements the local artefacts, handcrafted

furniture and beautiful imported pieces which adorn the interior, whilst the lounge spills out onto a grandiose terrace with a captivating view!

Game drives are conducted in open 4WD vehicles - and a 'must' is an early morning walk with a Maasai tracker in search of cheetah or leopard. Hikes through the Chyulu forest and across savannah plains, bush dinners under the starstudded African sky and sundowners in view of dramatic sunsets and Mt. Kilimanjaro - these will all instill a love for the African continent which will stay with you forever!

Campi ya Kanzi is accessible via a daily private charter from Nairobi.
