If you’re planning a summer wedding, there are plenty of fabulous honeymoon destinations to choose from! Early enough to avoid school holidays, June is a great time to be going away with prices slightly lower and availability better than at the height of summer.
If gorgeous weather and an idyllic island paradise are what you’re after then pack your bags and head to the South Pacific. This fabulously romantic and beautiful destination is a great choice during our summer months with less rain and lower humidity than at other times of the year. And, when it comes to which islands to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If it’s stunning landscapes you’re after then Tahiti, Fiji and the Cook Islands will definitely not disappoint! The islands are truly spectacular with an array of wonderful honeymoon hideaways to choose from!
Whether it's beaches or adventure, Australia is a fabulous honeymoon destination - and while most people think that this is the time to avoid going to Australia, it is actually the best time of year to visit the entire north of the country - the rugged Northern Territory, idyllic Queensland and the remote north of Western Australia. These northern states offer great weather during the British summer allowing you to visit the rainforest and reef in Queensland or head into the outback and marvel at sights such as Uluru (Ayers Rock) or the ancient Kimberley.
Other top ‘off-season’ destinations include the Cayman Islands and Barbados. While it is rainy season, it is before the full hurricane season hits, and by and large, if you’re looking to make savings and don’t mind the chance of rain, then they are good choices. Also, if you travel in June, you’ll miss the school holidays, meaning even more great deals can be found.
'On-season' favourites include Indonesia and east coast Malaysia as well as Pangkor Laut on the west. Luxury abounds as does the opportunity to mix it up with city stop-overs in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Bangkok.
Where to go... Tahiti is a dream in June and for those who like adventure why not combine it with New Zealand for the ultimate winter adventure. Often wrong thought of us as winter destination Australia and the Great Barrier Reef Island make a dream honeymoon destination.
