Aitutaki

140 miles and a 50 minute flight north of Rarotonga - and famous for its large awe-inspiring aquamarine lagoon and pristine white sands - atoll-like Aitutaki never fails to captivate even the most well-travelled of visitors! Enclosing the lagoon is a surf-topped coral reef and a sprinkling of coral islets.

A 'must' on any visit to Aitutaki is a cruise on the magnificent lagoon, visiting islands such as 'One Foot Island' (don't forget your passport as you can get it stamped as a souvenir of your visit!) and Akaimi Island, used in the 1950s as a refuelling point for island-hopping seaplanes following a romantic path known as the Coral Route.
