Botswana has two distinct seasons – summer from October to April – and winter from May to September. Most of the rain falls during the hottest months between December and February (usually in the form of short, sharp thunderstorms) – whilst the dry season from April to November promises the best game viewing. The floodwaters usually reach the Okavango in and around May.
