Inspired by the award-winning Spa Village Pangkor Laut in Malaysia, Spa Village Resort Tembok, Bali encourages guests to venture on a journey of self-discovery – and every aspect of the resort reflects one of four ‘Discovery Paths’ – all of which have been specifically designed to offer an authentic Balinese experience. ‘Balance’ combines spa treatments such as soothing body wraps and massage with gentle walks and yoga to help induce peace of mind. Immersion in Balinese arts such as woodcarving and basket weaving is the focus of the ‘Creativity’ path, whilst the ‘Vigour’ path encourages more strenuous activity and movement through daily personal training, beach walks and other outdoor activities such as diving and snorkelling. The Spa Village Academy offers classes which provide an insight into the philosophy and practices of this unique island’s healing arts such as learning the basics of traditional Balinese massage. Cookery classes, cultural excursions, a sunset cruise and bicycle rides through quaint villages are also available.

The resort’s stylish and elegant accommodation comprises 27 Kamar Rooms, two exclusive one-bedroom Suites and two stunning, very private one-bedroom Villas (the Villas each have a plunge pool with views of the ocean). In keeping with the resort’s commitment to providing a peaceful environment, there are iPod docks instead of televisions in the rooms, the resort welcomes children the age of 16 and above, and mobile phones are not permitted in public areas.
