Waka Shorea is an unusual eco-resort, ideal for those who wish to experience untouched nature in a beautiful setting. Located at the very tip of a peninsula in North Bali, the Waka Shorea is situated in Bali Barat National Park and is just opposite the famous diving and snorkelling site of Menjangan Island. Accessed by private boat, the resort feels very isolated and as if you are reaching an island paradise. Each of the fourteen Lanai bungalows and two villas is set in the midst of true jungle foliage. A white sand beach and turquoise waters are just steps away. The area’s famed coral is close to the resort and some wonderful snorkelling can be enjoyed straight from the end of the resort’s jetty. As you arrive by boat, it is possible to see angel fish, corals and other marine life with complete clarity. The resort can also organise diving and PADI courses. The rooms are very simple, in keeping with the natural environment and the eco-conscious stance of the resort. Simple fabrics in natural colours complement the wooden Lanais and mosquito nets keep out unwanted jungle visitors. A must for those who wish to feel at one with nature, the animals of the National Park can often be spotted in the resort, including monkeys, deer and wild pigs. A 'must' is a sunrise boat cruise to witness the very best of these stunning surroundings.
