Villa Balquisse & The Shaba

Decorated by a French Moroccan interior designer now living in Bali, the décor of these two properties is a truly chic blend of Arabic, colonial and Indonesian flavours.

The Shaba itself is a chic colonial bungalow style mansion with only 3 rooms. It can be enjoyed exclusively as a whole villa, or alternatively the rooms can be taken individually. Low rise, truly elegant and with antique artefacts including scooters, gramophones and old radios, the ambience is the classic Orient of old. Built around a central courtyard, the biggest room is the Suite which features a claw foot bath tub, silk drapes and low chandeliers. The two Deluxe rooms are smaller and can be interconnecting – a small shared sitting room lies between the two rooms. There is a long swimming pool for all three rooms to share, as well as a spotless kitchen for use if the entire villa is taken.

Villa Balquisse has a more Balinese feel but boasts a unique twist with its almost Moroccan palette – terracotta, yellow ochre and burnt gold colours match Balinese antique furniture. Villa Balquisse has two villas – one with three bedrooms and one with five bedrooms. Again, each villa has its own swimming pool and kitchen. Villas can be taken as a whole or rooms can be booked individually. If you do not take the entire villa, all meals are served at the charming wooden restaurant which serves a fusion of Asian, Mediterranean and Arabic food.

There is a small spa and boutique for guests to use. Although not on the beach itself, the property is located in beautiful Jimbaran and is only around 5 minutes drive from the beach.
