Southern Queensland
Southern Queensland's gateway city is Brisbane - with the Gold Coast to the south and the less developed Sunshine Coast to the north. A 1.5 hour drive south-west of Brisbane, sitting in perfect seclusion surrounded by World Heritage-listed Main Range National Park, lies one of Australia's finest retreats, Peppers Spicers Peak Lodge. Tucked away in the mountains, a stay here combines perfectly with some time on the coast.
Central Queensland
In our opinion, the gem of the Central Queensland coast is the little-known Town of 1770 - this tiny village of 200 people, located 120 kilometres north of Bundaberg, is surrounded by four National Parks and is home to coral reefs, islands, white sandy surf beaches - and Australia's leading environmentally sustainable coastal community, Sunrise at 1770.
