The open-sided Treehouse Restaurant, which showcases the finest quality fresh produce, takes full advantage of its unique location perched high above the tranquil Mossman River - but the pièce de résistance of Silky Oaks Lodge is the invigorating Healing Waters Spa (for which advance bookings are highly recommended). Inspired by the soothing nature of the river and rainforest, the Spa provides indigenous based treatments to relax your body and calm your mind.

Guided rainforest walks, bicycles to go exploring, cruises to the Great Barrier Reef and a complimentary shuttle to the fabulous beach in nearby Port Douglas are just some of the activities available. Children 12 years and under are not catered for.

PRICES Prices from £126 per person per night in a Treehouse, based on 2 people sharing including breakfast. Reduced rates apply for stays of 3 nights or more. Flights to Australia vary in price considerably depending on date of departure though there are always good deals on quality airlines. Fares on Qantas/British Airways, for example can start from as little as £699 including taxes and fuel surcharges. From April 2008, Qantas will be introducing its all-new Premium Economy cabin.
