We all know someone who has returned from the trip of a lifetime with stories of being upgraded to business class on their flight home with champagne thrown in for good measure and early bird 5 star hotel deals! Are they the lucky ones, or are some people just great at finding holiday offers?

Like all things, it largely comes down to who you know, what you know and spotting opportunities to bag a fabulous deal.

Why not take a few ideas from the savvy travellers here at Turquoise Holidays…

1. Find the best deal for your budget

Work out your budget, including spending money, from the outset and you will quickly be in a position to draw up a short list of what’s in your price range. All-inclusives are now available at some of our most popular destinations including the Indian Ocean and Africa, and many others offer upgrades to half or full board. We are constantly updating our website with the latest offers.

2. Look out for The Sales

Unlike the high street fashion outlets, you don’t have to go rifling through rails of last season’s rubbish to find the hidden gem. We create superb deals in conjunction with BA during their January Sale, and with many resorts in their so-called low season (which really isn’t always a euphemism for rain!) The first day of the Turquoise Holidays Honeymoon Sale, which runs every year in mid-February is now a red letter day. But you have to be quick as the best deals get snapped up fast! Keep an eye on our online honeymoon shop from January onwards and you will find some sensational deals.

3. Be an Early Bird and catch the Worm

Holidays with an expensive price tag or at peak times such as Christmas can often be booked far more cost effectively if you plan up to a year ahead. For example, at the moment Turquoise is offering over £3000 off a ten night holiday in Tahiti if you book before 31 October for travel in 2015, and the Indian Ocean has really woken up to the need to offer great deals for Christmas Holidays as early as June.

4. Have an eye for the main chance

On the other hand, if you’re not tied to dates, keep an open mind on where to go and ask for last minute travel bargains. There are always fantastic deals on offer during school term times, so if you are not looking for a family holiday nor have pre-school age children, the world really is your oyster.

5. Don’t be afraid to bend the rules

There is always an exception to every rule. Just because your resident office travel ‘expert’ says that the best time to visit the Maldives is in January, it doesn’t mean that the time you want to go isn’t just as good. In fact there are plenty of places which have lovely shoulder and low seasons with fewer tourists, and naturally they are far better value. Check out our weather guide – then call us!

6. DIY doesn’t always mean cheaper, nor does it come with a guarantee.

Far from it! The explosion of the internet has led many people to think they can research and book their own holidays at unbeatable prices but rarely is that the case. Reputable holiday companies like Turquoise get excellent rates and value-adds from their top holiday suppliers and should be smart enough to pass it on to their loyal customers along with the benefit of first-hand experience – and you don’t have to take only our word for it – read what our guests say.

Here at Turquoise we get many exclusive deals especially at our most popular resorts. Check out our latest top ten and then ask us for the latest offers.

Paradise doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag – call Turquoise Holidays on 01494678400 or drop into our shop for a chat and you could soon be one savvy and very happy traveller!
