Mauritius is famed for its beaches, white sand and turquoise water, however there is a lot more to this idyllic island than first meets the eye.

Diving

Fish

Mauritius is home to the world’s largest unbroken coral reef which surrounds the whole of the island, making the diving here spectacular.  The conditions are perfect for all types of divers, the water is perfectly clear and in the majority of the water there is a very weak current, perfect for beginners.  Although wreck sights are more suited for advanced divers as the currents can get quite strong, especially in the south of the island.  the island is also home to the world’s finest coral reefs and marine life ever to be seen!  Parrot fish, groupers and a variety of other exotic marine life can be spotted along the coast, if you’re lucky you might even spot a bull shark!  Diving here is fantastic all year round.

If you don’t fancy diving there is also the option for either an undersea walk where you can walk on the bottom of the sea bed with a glass bubble helmet, allowing to see the underwater world without diving! If you fancy the more fast past under water experience rent a sub-scooter! Dive up to three meters down in your own blue safari glass bubble!

Golf

Le tousserok Gold Course

Golf is also hugely popular in Mauritius, with many of the desirable hotels featuring world-class courses designed by world-class players.  The golf course at Le Tousserok has been voted one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world by Golf World magazine! Located on its own private island, accessible by a five minute boat journey, this 18 hole par 72 championship golf course was designed by Bernhard Langer and is the second largest golf course in Mauritius.  Similarly the golf course at Four Seasons at Anahita, designed by Ernie Els, the last hole here has been voted the most spectacular in the world!  Whats even better is that you don’t have to be staying at the hotel to play at the golf course!

Casela Nature and Leisure Park

Casela Nature and Leisure park is perfect for the whole family.  With a wide range of fun activities on offer from quad biking and ziplines to a petting farm and safari park there is something here for every age range!  With the longest zipline circuit in the Indian Ocean: combining Nepalese bridges, double and triple ziplines and canyon swimming there is no better way to experience Mauritius’ lush interior.  Discover the African reserve differently by hiring a segway!  There is also the option of going on safari by quad bike.  See zebras, ostriches, antelopes, deer and exotic birds in Casela’s own African safari experience.
