Lombok

Lombok is the neighbouring island to Bali and is just a short flight away.  Renowned for the good snorkelling and diving to be found in the Gili Islands, Lombok itself is a popular destination.

Although perhaps lacking the infrastructure and excellent boutique options of Bali, Lombok has one or two good resorts to offer, ranging from the large and luxurious Oberoi to the small, boutique and simple Qunci Villas.

The beaches here are undoubtedly beautiful and it is really possible to escape the crowds.

As with Bali, the best time to visit is between April and November.
