Set in a stunning wild and windswept location and overlooking a dramatic beach, the Waka Gangga is for those who are truly seeking to get away from it all. As well as beautiful scenery, the resort offers isolation, peace and true seclusion. Located on the coast of West Bali, Waka Gangga is not far from the beautiful temples of Tanah Lot. On this untouched coastline, the rice paddies stretch almost directly onto the beach and the sand is a volcanic dark grey. The Waka has 10 circular villas, the circumference of which is at least half covered by glass, giving guests the sense that they are at one with the outdoor scenery. The roof is pointed thatch, in the traditional Indonesian ‘alang alang’ style. The décor inside the villas is rustic, with a simple elegance. The bed is at the centre of the room and faces towards the ocean, draped in romantic mosquito nets. The terracotta coloured bathroom includes a sunken terrazzo bathtub and separate shower. Rooms do not have televisions or music systems, the idea of a stay at the Waka Gangga being simply to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The restaurant is a real highlight. With semi-open sides and large floor to ceiling windows, the views are just magnificent, particularly at sunset. The resort also conducts yoga classes with the same view. To complete your relaxing experience, Waka Gangga also has a lovely spa.
