Qunci Villas

Actually located on the neighbouring island of Lombok, Qunci Villas is an intimate, peaceful and stylish resort, situated around ten minutes drive from Lombok’s Sengiggi Beach.

The resort has just 26 rooms. Some are located in a two storey building and some are stand-alone bungalows with a thatch roof. The downstairs rooms have a lovely semi-outdoor bathroom and outdoor terrace, whilst the upstairs rooms have a large outdoor balcony with a comfortable day bed. Some of the upstairs rooms have sea views. Rooms are relatively simple – an elegant cream décor and large white plinth bed are set off by Indonesian textiles and a terracotta colour day bed. There are no televisions and upstairs rooms do not have bathtubs yet the rooms are attractive in their simplicity.

Qunci also has a small central swimming pool, as well as a beachfront area with sunloungers. The modern restaurant is open-sided and overlooks the beach. It serves a range of Indonesian and international dishes. The resort does not have a spa but simple massages can be arranged either in your room or in the balé by the pool.

The resort also has two large villas on the hills – one has two bedrooms and the other three bedrooms. Both have wonderful views over the ocean and boast a huge swimming pool. They are decorated with an amazing collection of modern Indonesian art.

Although the resort does not have the facilities or details of a luxury hotel, the warm welcome is genuine and the accommodation is undoubtedly excellent value in an attractive setting.
