Set in the stunning south west corner of Western Australia, just a 3 hour drive or 30 minute flight south of Perth, this superb beachfront resort enjoys one of Australia’s most desirable locations! It is nestled on the edge of the Indian Ocean alongside the beautiful turquoise waters and glorious white sands of Bunker Bay in the heart of the world famous Margaret River wine region. The resort embraces the natural curve of the shoreline and not only does it take full advantage of the uninterrupted ocean views - but it is also protected from the prevailing sea breezes by the beautiful Cape Naturaliste promontory. Newly opened in March 2004, Quay West offers a choice of studios, one, two and three bedroom villas in contemporary Australian style. Natural local materials have been used throughout - the Jarrah timber floors and extensive use of glass create a relaxed indoors/outdoors feel whilst rustic boardwalks lead through the 35 acres of landscaped gardens. The villas are stylishly appointed with all the amenities you would expect of a five star resort - including a DVD and CD player, large baths (many with spa jets), a private courtyard and fabulous ocean, garden or lake views. Each villa has a separate living and dining area and a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette. To minimise disturbance and maintain the ambience of this beautiful setting, cars are not permitted into the property! Instead, on arrival, your car is valet-parked and you will be supplied with a buggy! If you don’t fancy venturing too far, the resort has a 25 metre outdoor heated lap pool, tennis courts, a fully equipped gymnasium and a Health and Rejuvenation Spa! Both Bunker Bay andneighbouring Eagle Bay boast great beaches for fishing, swimming and snorkelling - and the nearby HMAS Swan Marine Wreck offers a world class diving experience. You can enjoy alfresco dining at the resort’s stylish ‘Other Side of the Moon’ Restaurant, which was named after one of the famous surf breaks nearby. There is also a casual beach café and a poolside bar. We highly recommend you try some of the local eateries too! Dining out in vibrant Margaret River is a gastronomic delight! The region is home to some superb award-winning restaurants (Flutes and VAT 2 are two of our favourites). You can enjoy wine tastings at internationally acclaimed wineries, browse through arts and craft galleries, catch a wave on one of the fabulous surf beaches - and even explore some amazing caves (Jewel Cave, Moondyne Cave, Lake Cave and Mammoth Cave are some of the most pristine, decorative caves in the world).
